Silent vigil to honor school shooting victims, April 20

WHAT
The Saint Leo community is invited to participate in a silent vigil in honor of school shooting victims 11:19 a.m. – 1:19 p.m., Thursday, April 20. Participants are encouraged to come when they can and stay as long as they wish. Participants are asked not to speak during the vigil, to have cell phones turned off, and to bring a blanket or lawn chair if desired — no seating will be provided.

WHY
At 11:19 a.m. on April 20, 1999, a massacre of students and faculty began at Columbine High School in Littleton, CO. Since that time, hundreds of students, teachers, administrators, and staff have been killed in school shootings across the country. Time at the silent vigil should be spent in silent meditation, reflection, remembrance and prayers — for the victims of school shootings and for a peaceful way forward for our country.

Everyone is invited to attend.

Thursday, April 20, 11:19 a.m. – 1:19 p.m. Come when you can and leave when you wish.
