0University Ministry embraces ‘Welcome Home’ theme at fall freshmen retreat
University Ministry hosted close to 70 freshmen and upperclassmen student leaders at the freshmen retreat, held August 24 – 25 at the Bethany Retreat Center in Lutz, FL. The theme of this year’s retreat was “Welcome Home,” and freshmen students who attended were invited to begin their college experience by celebrating their faith with new friends.
The University Ministry student leadership team directed talks, gospel reflections, recreation activities, and icebreakers. Campus Minister Lucas Nocera provided uplifting music throughout the days. Father Randall Meissen, university chaplain, and Father Anthony Ujagbo, graduate student, celebrated the liturgies for attendees.
All students are invited to participate in University Ministry activities this school year. Find out more about University Ministry here. When classes are in session, Student Mass is celebrated at 5 p.m. daily in the Saint Leo Abbey Church, and at 7 p.m. on Sundays in the church. All members of the Saint Leo community are welcome.
