Applause, a monthly feature, celebrates the successes of Saint Leo University faculty and staff. If you would like to submit an accomplishment, please send details to news@saintleo.edu. Highlights may include external leadership appointments, awards, and notable presentation opportunities.
- Viki Stoupenos, regional librarian, recently wrote an article that was published in the current issue of the journal, South Carolina Libraries, entitled “My Experience with a Virtual Event Platform at the SCLA Conference.”
- Shana Murrell, director of Alumni Engagement, is a member of the Leadership Tampa Bay Class of 2023. Leadership Tampa is one of the oldest regional leadership programs in the country, and it recently announced its 52 new class members from the Tampa Bay area. New members enroll each year from businesses and organizations for programming that gives them insights into current regional challenges and opportunities. The challenge for this class is to find solutions for big-picture issues such as transportation, affordable housing, and inflation.
- Dr. Georgina Rivera-Singletary, associate professor of graduate education, is a member of the 2023 Leadership Pasco cohort. Rivera-Singletary teaches online and her programs include educational leadership, instructional leadership, and exceptional student education. In addition to Leadership Pasco, she also is a member of the Leadership Saint Leo Class of 2022. Since 1991, the mission of Leadership Pasco is to identify and recruit current or potential leaders of Pasco County, facilitate the development and interaction of those leaders, and to foster an issues-oriented learning environment for these leaders and the citizens of Pasco County (FL) in order to encourage an exchange of ideas and generate enthusiasm for community growth and development.
