Leaders in the Industry series to present ‘Strengthening Police and Community Partnerships’ in June

Career Services and the Ocala Education Center will present the next session in the Leaders in the Industry series, “Strengthening Police and Community Partnerships” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, featuring Saint Leo alumna, Tara Woods ’03, ’12, Community Liaison for the Ocala Police Department.

Join us via Zoom!

Woods will share the story of her highly successful 30-year career with the Ocala Police Department, as a community service officer, police officer and detective, and ultimately leading teams as Major in the Community Policing, Special Operations, and Criminal Investigations divisions. As her career developed, she also received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University. After 30 years of service with the City of Ocala, Woods retired in 2021, returning one month later to serve as the department’s community liaison, a position she proudly holds to date.

Retired Major Woods will continue the conversation by sharing her thoughts on crime prevention and the importance of police and community partnerships to build safer communities. Join us for this informal, interview style session to network with this industry leader and join in the conversation.
