0East Pasco Education Center, CAPP partner to offer professional development training for teachers
Saint Leo University’s East Pasco Education Center and the Center for Alternative Pathway Programs (CAPP) partnered on Tuesday, March 15, to provide professional development sessions for teachers at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School in Pasco County, FL.
The first two topics focused on conflict reduction and resolution techniques as well as tools for effective parent-teacher relationships. The instructor for the sessions was Mary Owens, who is well-known in the greater Tampa Bay area for her facilitation and business-coaching skills.
The Center for Alternative Pathway Programs at Saint Leo University offers continuing professional development courses for working adults. These courses are offered in an online format and, more recently in collaboration with the university’s East Pasco Education Center, CAPP now is offering in-person, customized professional development sessions to meet the unique needs of businesses and organizations in Pasco and Hernando counties.
Dr. Cindy Lee, director of CAPP, and Matthew Lenihan, director of the East Pasco Education Center (EPEC), are committed to aligning Saint Leo University’s professional development opportunities with the client’s request for services. The model increases market awareness of Saint Leo, expands local partnerships, generates revenue, and promotes the vision and mission of the university.
