0Theology on Tap features speaker who spreads Gospel via gaming
On February 17, University Ministry hosted guest speaker Jonathan Blevins, also known by his Internet alias “Bearded Blevins,” for the monthly Theology on Tap event. Blevins is the founder of Little Flower Media, a company that seeks to spread the Gospel message of light in the darkness through popular media, including live game streaming on Twitch and YouTube.
In addition to being a professional gamer, Blevins travels across the nation speaking at conferences and retreats about his conversion story and how he incorporates his Catholic faith into the world of gaming.
Students and members of the Saint Leo community gathered in the Student Community Center Boardrooms for a pizza dinner before listening to Blevins discuss John 11:33, in which Jesus learns that his friend Lazarus has died. Blevins explained how this passage was influential in his own conversion, and how the story of Jesus weeping for his friend is a constant reminder of God’s merciful love for us. Blevins urged students to begin every day by reflecting on God’s love for them.
