0Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, Saint Leo to grow partnership
On November 10, Dr. Mark Gesner, vice president of Community Engagement and Innovation, and Dr. Helen MacLennan, associate department chair, management and operations, for the Tapia College of Business, toured the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC) in Tampa, FL, to explore ways to deepen the Saint Leo partnership with the ECC.
The ECC was established by the Hillsborough County Economic Development Department in December of 2014 and provides entrepreneurs with access to business service providers, resources, mentorship, and specialty training. ECC is supported by more than 80 business and community partners in Tampa.
Building community partnerships, like ECC, and advancing community engagement across the university is a key role for Gesner, who joined Saint Leo University in August. Gesner is particularly focused in the areas of community impact, social entrepreneurism, and professional development.
