Coming soon: Zoom webinar for social service agencies on securing grants now

Faculty are asked to take note of a special webinar coming up that may relate to some of their class content, or that may interest students working in the social or human service agency sectors.

The Center for Alternative Pathway Programs (CAPPS) will host a free Zoom webinar on “Grants and COVID-19,” particularly for professional staff at social service and human services-related nonprofit agencies. The event is scheduled for Friday, September 18, from noon to 1 p.m.

As client and community needs for the services of these agencies have expanded because of job losses and business closures, agencies have had to start looking for additional resources to be able to help more people. This webinar will assist executive directors and other professional staff who are seeking new grant money by identifying strategies that are particularly important now. The webinar will also discuss sources of useful information.

The webinar presenter is Jenenne Valentino-Bottaro, PhD, who teaches a short course on grantsmanship for CAPPS.

This information is being shared publicly to reach people in the designated fields, so faculty and staff may feel free to share this with colleagues outside the university whose organizations could benefit.

For more information, reach Dr. Nancy Wood, associate professor of human services, at nancy.wood@saintleo.edu. To request the Zoom link, please provide meeting contact information.
