Open Enrollment for 2020-2021 Benefits, February 10-21

Open enrollment for the upcoming benefits plan year (April 2, 2020, through March 31, 2021) will begin Monday, February 10, and end at 5 p.m. ET, Friday, February 21.  During that time, employees may add, waive, or make changes to their medical, dental, and vision benefits for the 2020-2021 plan year.

Employees who take no action will be enrolled in the same coverage they have for the current plan year, with two exceptions:  contributions to Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and individual Aflac coverage, neither of which will roll over from the previous plan year.  Employees who wish to contribute to an FSA or who have existing Aflac coverage must enroll for the 2020-2021 plan year.

Benefit elections made during open enrollment will take effect on April 1, 2020. Keep in mind, the open enrollment period is the one time during the year that employees may make changes to their benefits packages, outside of having a qualifying life event such as marriage, birth, divorce, etc.

Enrollment and changes to benefits must be made through the ICUBA website, http://ICUBAbenefits.org. Please note, if you are adding dependents during this year’s open enrollment, you will need to upload documentation to authenticate your relationship. To learn about the changes, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend one of the open enrollment meetings hosted by Human Resources at University Campus or view one of the recorded sessions online via the links provided below. Keep in mind, the meetings offered via Zoom offer the option of chatting live with a Human Resources representative who can provide answers to your specific questions in real time.

Alternatively, the open enrollment presentation and other benefits information documents will be available on the intranet starting February 10.  To access the files:

  • Log into intranet.saintleo.edu.
  • Click on the “Human Resources / Prof. Dev.” tab.
  • Click on “Benefits,” from the left hand navigation menu.
  • Click to open the “2020-2021 Open Enrollment” folder.

Finally, in advance of open enrollment, Independent Colleges and Universities [of Florida] Benefits Administration (ICUBA) is offering a webinar featuring new group offerings through Aflac and new “Explain My Benefits” enrollment counseling services.
