0Celebrate Mass of the Holy Spirit on Thursday, August 29
Mass of the Holy Spirit/Convocation Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 29, in the Saint Leo Abbey Church. To mark the opening of the academic year, Catholic colleges and universities celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit, which dates back to the 16th century.
The Mass will be celebrated by Abbot Isaac Camacho, OSB, ’95 and Father Kyle Smith, university chaplain, ’07 will be one of the concelebrants. The abbot will give the homily.
All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to come together as a community and celebrate the academic convocation. The Saint Leo community will ask for the God’s guidance in all of our university activities. We pray that we will be a community of learning, growth and peace where each person is respected, encouraged, and celebrated as a son or daughter of God.
To allow faculty, staff, and students the opportunity to attend Mass of the Holy Spirit, University Campus will observe an alternate class schedule on Thursday, August 29.
