0Human Resources announces 2019 approved university holidays
Clarification regarding Veterans Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day
The opportunity to use these days as community service days will go into effect next academic year. While we encourage students, faculty, and staff to consider community service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 21, 2019), there is no requirement and the university will be closed that day. Both Veterans Day (Monday, November 11, 2019) and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 20, 2020) will be regular work days with an option for days of service.
The Office of Human Resources would like to share with you the approved holidays for 2019.
Please note that employees will receive an additional day off for Independence Day and for the Thanksgiving break in 2019.

Veterans Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be optional service days starting with the 2019-2020 academic year. These days are available for employees to take time to participate in volunteering with a program of their choice or employees may also choose to participate in an organized university volunteering event (more information to come). For employees who do not wish to volunteer, they will be expected to work normal scheduled hours on these days.
