Discussion of fighting anti-Semitism kicks off Spring Semester Theology Thursdays

On February 23, University Ministry hosted its first Theology Thursday event of the semester in TECO Hall. Students gathered for pizza, fellowship, and conversations on faith and morals.

This event featured guest speaker Mary Schulten Karp, who works as a campus manager of Christian outreach with StandWithUs, an organization dedicated to combating anti-Semitism.

Schulten Karp spoke on the topics of the history and foundations of Christian support of the state of Israel, the biblical roots connecting Christianity and Judaism, and ways that college students can help to combat anti-Semitism. Those who are interested in finding out more about the mission of StandWithUs are encouraged to visit its website or follow on social media via @standwithus.

University Ministry looks forward to hosting more engaging conversations with the next Theology Thursday event slated for 6 p.m. on March 23.
