Saint Leo to transition to Pepsi products during spring break

WHAT
Saint Leo University will begin offering Pepsi products on University Campus, starting as early as March 13. This transition from Coca-Cola to Pepsi as the university’s new beverage partner will present students, faculty, and staff with a variety of beverage options.

WHY
With more and more people opting for healthier, non-sugary drinks, Pepsi can offer a wide range of popular brands outside of soft drinks. In addition to Pepsi and Mountain Dew, this new partnership will allow our community to enjoy Gatorade, Starbuck’s Cold Ready to Drink Coffees, Bubly, Pure Leaf Tea, LIFEWTR, Celsius, and more.

Other colleges and universities that have partnered with Pepsi have seen an increase in sales and student satisfaction. Additionally, Pepsi offers programs to support student-athletes through its Gatorade brand.

IMPACT
To prepare for this transition, Coca-Cola vending machines and coolers throughout campus will be removed on March 9 and 10, impacting the beverage options in FUZ, Saint Leo University Fusion Eatery, Benedict’s Coffeehouse, and the University Bookstore.

Pepsi vending machines and coolers will be installed from March 13-17. During this time, fountain drink machines in the Dining Hall and FUZ will be down, and Dining Services will have limited beverage options.

Once the machines have been installed, faculty and staff can look forward to attending a Pepsi Kickoff event from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 20, on the  Lakeside Patio of the Student Community Center. Be on the lookout for more details to come in Community news.
