See photos from Abbey Church’s 75th anniversary

On Sunday, January 29, the Saint Leo University community, the public, and the Benedictine Monks of Saint Leo Abbey celebrated the 75th anniversary of the consecration of the Saint Leo Abbey Church.

This historic milestone will be marked by Mass at 10 a.m., celebrated by Bishop Elias Lorenzo, OSB, of the Archdiocese of Newark.

Ground was broken on August 15, 1936, for the Saint Leo Abbey Church, but was often delayed because of war and the need to raise funds. The church was consecrated on January 29, 1948.
