Ice hockey club team taking on upper division, adult league
Are you looking for something fun to do? Faculty, staff, and students are invited to watch Saint Leo’s new ice hockey club team in action. Admission is free!
The ice hockey Lions are in the process of meeting necessary requirements to apply to be part of the Collegiate Hockey Federation. Currently, the team is playing the best semiprofessional adult recreational teams at the Lakeland Ice Arena. The team hopes to play at AdventHealth Center Ice in nearby Wesley Chapel, FL, later in the year.
Saint Leo’s ice hockey team features students along with faculty member Dr. Randall Woodard, and staff member Kevin Floyd on its roster.
The schedule is as follows (all game times are subject to change):
January 29, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. HSC
February 5, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. Moose
February 12, 9:45 p.m., Lions vs. Sharks
February 19, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. Flying Pigs
February 26, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. Thunder
February 27, 10:15 p.m., Lions vs. Flying Pigs
March 5, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. HSC
March 12, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. Thunder
March 19, 7:15 p.m., Lions vs. HSC
All games listed will be played at the Lakeland Ice Arena, 3395 W. Memorial Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33815.
