Volunteers needed for move-in days, first days of class

Help welcome the Class of 2026, new students, and returning students this fall! Volunteers are needed to help with move-in days and the first days of class, August 23 – 27 and August 30 – 31.

The Department of Student and Family Engagement is looking for volunteers to assist with student check-in at the parking garage, campus/building greeters and move-in helpers, and those who can work information tents on the first days of class. Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and clothing—Saint Leo gear would be great!

Sign up to volunteer here.

International students begin arriving Tuesday, August 23. Move-in for new and transfer students is Thursday, August 25, and Friday, August 26. Returning students move in on Saturday, August 27. The first days of class are Tuesday, August 30, and Wednesday, August 31.

The locations where volunteers will work and the duties include:

Tapia College of Business building lobby: international student check-in—assist with check-in procedures and walk students to various campus locations.

Parking garage: Domestic and returning student check-in—volunteers will be assigned to a station.

Student Activities Building lobby: Parent and Family Welcome Area—greet families, answer questions, and help families navigate campus.

All residence halls: Help students move in (unload vehicles and carry belongings to their rooms). Note: Only Apartments 3, 4, 5, and 6 have elevators.

Let’s make a great impression on our students and their families and help them feel welcome!
