0In Memoriam – Edward “Ted” Raub
The Saint Leo University community mourns the loss of Edward “Ted” Crisler Raub ’13, ’20, who passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the age of 40. Ted worked at Saint Leo for four years, most recently serving as director of Undergraduate Admissions, and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the university.
Ted was born in Christiansted, St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Raub; mother, Julie Crisler; brother, Matthew Raub; father- and mother-in-laws, Gerald and Sherry Newgent; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; three nieces and two nephews; and numerous other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Carl I. Raub.
Ted was well-known for his cooking expertise and love of grilling on his Big Green Egg. His home was always filled with friends, and he enjoyed hanging out, eating, and listening to and sharing stories. He was a huge sports, music, and laughing fan. His favorite team was the Chicago Bears.
Saint Leo University community members are invited to attend a celebration of life, planned for 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, at Scotland Yards (9424 US Highway 301, Dade City, FL 33525). Attendees are encouraged to wear their brightest island attire and flip flops.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
