0Call for proposals issued for next university Social Work Conference
Department organizers of the Saint Leo University Social Work Conference have announced their call for proposals for in-person workshops and presentations at the Eighth Annual Social Work Conference, being held on Friday, October 7.
This year’s theme, “The Time is Right for Social Work,” not only emphasizes the profession’s accomplishments, but also focuses attention on the influence social workers have to create systemic change for diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the need for the social work profession is more apparent than ever, more people are entering the profession, and the conference will highlight social workers who are leaders of change through research, policy-based advocacy, and practice.
Those attending the conference will be practicing social workers as well as academics. “The Time is Right for Social Work” is an established theme of the National Association of Social Workers (www.socialworkers.org) for 2022.
Those interested in making a presentation or hosting a workshop are invited to share proposals that demonstrate innovation in practice, help define and strengthen the profession, or create knowledge and strategies to tackle client’s and communities’ ongoing concerns. Preference will be given to proposals that connect the conference theme and incorporate leading change and collaboration through a social justice framework.
The deadline to submit proposals is Sunday, May 15.
