0Volunteers needed for 2022 Florida commencement
The Saint Leo University community will celebrate the success of more than 1,200 students at our 2022 Florida commencement events this May. The weekend kicks off on Friday, May 13, with the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, Baccalaureate Mass, and Saint Leo Under the Stars at University Campus. On Saturday, May 14, graduates will be honored at two commencement ceremonies held at the Florida State Fairgrounds. (See event schedule below.)
Commencement is a cherished university event, and each member of our community has a role in helping students progress to this achievement. As we celebrate the Class of 2022, the university is calling for volunteers to help make commencement a memorable experience for our students and their loved ones. There are many jobs to fill on Friday and Saturday, including ushers and greeters, as well as a need for people to help with student check-in, set-up, take-down, and more.
For non-exempt employees, time devoted to the commencement events may calculate in the 40-hour work week. All employees should work with their supervisors to create a schedule to accommodate department coverage and commencement support. After obtaining approval from your supervisor, email commencement@saintleo.edu by April 29 to sign up. Indicate which events you will be available to support. Additional details will be provided.
