Tampa Center hosting ‘So You Want to Break Into HR’ panel discussion
Saint Leo students, alumni, and employees are invited to attend So You Really Want to Break Into HR? Spoken Truths of HR Professionals. This panel discussion will take place 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 31, at the Tampa Education Center and via Zoom. Saint Leo’s Tampa Education Center is at 1403 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL, 33607.
Michelle “Chelly” Conley, a Saint Leo student in the Master of Business Administration: Human Resource Management program, and Dr. J. Adam Shoemaker, associate professor of human resource management, are helping organize this event. It is being hosted by HR Tampa, the area chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. Conley recently was elected director of College Relations for HR Tampa.
The March 31 panel discussion will feature professionals from each aspect of human resources: recruiting/talent management; compensation/benefits; employee relations; risk management/safety; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
There will be opportunities to learn about different specializations of HR, the background and skills needed for different HR positions, and navigating how to break into the HR industry.
Anyone looking to transition into HR, current college students and prospective students, and young professionals looking to start a career in HR would benefit from this presentation. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
