Denim Day at University Campus benefits Sunrise of Pasco County

April is designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Faculty and staff at University Campus are encouraged to make a $5 donation in exchange for permission to wear denim to work on Wednesday, April 6. The money raised will be donated to Sunrise of Pasco County Inc. Domestic & Sexual Violence Center. Denim Day is an internationally recognized event where individuals wear jeans to show solidarity with victims of sexual assault.

If you would like to show your support, you can participate in our Saint Leo University Denim Day event by wearing denim on Wednesday, April 6. You can contribute by:

  • Dropping off your cash donation in person to Ashley Phelps in the Student Activities Building (Student Activities Window) throughout the month of April.
  • Attending the Denim Day Tabling event on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (in front of the Student Activities Building)
  • Donating online at https://www.sunrisepasco.org/donation.

Since 1982, Sunrise of Pasco has been providing free services to survivors of violence in the community. They maintain an emergency shelter to provide protection for women and children in crisis, provide free counseling services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and foster a culture of non-violence through community engagement.
