0CARE event to raise awareness about domestic violence
In honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Month, the Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education (CARE) program invites the Saint Leo community to speak up and speak out against violence by participating in CARE’s Search-and-Find event, being held October 11-31 at University Campus.
Approximately one in five college students nationally say an intimate partner has abused them. Saint Leo’s CARE program helps to raise awareness, educate the community about prevention, and support survivors of this devastating but common issue.
To participate in the Search-and-Find event, CARE has chalked three domestic violence-related tags on walkways across campus. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to take photos of all three tags and send those pictures by email to Project Director Noemi Reyes, noemi.reyes@saintleo.edu. Participants will be entered into a drawing to win a $40 and $35 Amazon gift card. First- and second-prize winners will be announced on Monday, November 1.
Find these three CARE tags, take pictures, and help get the conversation started about domestic violence prevention. Happy searching!
