0Mammogram bus to be at University Campus November 3
In cooperation with Advent Health, a mobile mammography unit equipped for 3D imaging will visit Saint Leo University’s main campus on Wednesday, November 3, to offer preventative screenings to faculty and staff. Most major insurance coverage is accepted, and there is no extra charge for the 3D capability.
The unit will be parked near Facilities from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and then in our central campus area, near the Dining Hall, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A screening can take as little as 10 minutes and prove to be a lifesaver. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetimes.
It is easy to take advantage of this service. Women who are ages 40 and up do not need a prescription or a referral for this service. Women ages 35 to 39 will need a prescription from a doctor.
It is important, though, to register in advance by filling out this Registration Form. Download it, print it out, fill it in, and bring it to the bus with you. An appointment is required to attend. Please register at www.AdventHealthMobileMammography.com.
For more information on the screening, see this FAQ document from AdventHealth.
