0Abbey Church and Gift Shop temporarily closed
The Saint Leo Abbey regrets to announce that for now the Abbey Church is closed to visitors and Mass and Divine Office (daily prayer) are not open to the public. The Abbey Gift Shop is also closed.
These steps were taken to protect the health of the Benedictine Monks of Saint Leo Abbey following an employee’s positive COVID-19 test result. Additionally, the monks are in quarantine for the safety of the monastic community, of guests, and of employees. There have been no reports of symptoms. These steps are taken out of caution and in accordance with the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control.
As for social media from the Abbey Church, the celebrations of Mass will be streamed daily on Facebook and YouTube channels. The livestream of the Divine Office is suspended.
The Benedictine Monks of Saint Leo Abbey would greatly appreciate prayers and spiritual support, and they note that the monastic community is praying for the university community.
For those who would like to contribute financially to the monastery, donations can be made online through the Saint Leo Abbey Facebook page. Donations by mail can be sent to: Leo Abbey, P.O. Box 2350, St. Leo, FL 33574.
