0Career Services hosts next Career Readiness Workshop
Encourage students to join the next session of Saint Leo’s Career Readiness Competency Series to take a “deep dive” into each of the eight nationally recognized career competencies. Career readiness is the attainment and demonstration of competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for the workplace.
By participating in these workshops, students will learn how to identify each competency, understand the definitions, reflect upon their own experiences, and describe their strengths to future employers. Featured this month:

This series, and not just this session, will be beneficial for students. Up until recently, “career readiness” has been undefined, making it difficult to ensure college graduates were well-positioned for the workforce. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)—through a task force and using extensive research conducted among employers—has addressed the problem by identifying eight competencies that comprise readiness.
