0Saint Leo partners with AVENU Learning to offer degrees in Spanish
Starting in March 2021, Saint Leo University will officially be able to offer fully online degree programs in Spanish thanks to a new partnership with global education services partner AVENU Learning. In the first year, eight degree programs—designed by Saint Leo University instructors—will be available, and recruitment for the programs is expected to begin as early as November.
The programs will be targeted only to prospective students in Latin America, and U.S. residents are not eligible to apply. The Spanish language programs will include bachelor’s degrees in business administration, accounting, human resource management, liberal studies, psychology, computer information systems, cybersecurity, and health care administration. In Fall 2021, the partnership will expand to include three master’s degrees: business administration, accountancy, and cybersecurity.
The student experience—from recruitment and admissions to the university’s coursework—will be translated and localized by AVENU Learning to provide a quality learning experience in the student’s native language. Even the instructors will be native Spanish speakers, many living in Latin American countries.
AVENU Learning will oversee the full operation and delivery of the programs, with oversight from Saint Leo University faculty and staff. The end result of this effort is that a student’s language no longer has to be a barrier to receiving a quality education from a regionally accredited, nonprofit Catholic university.
Faculty and staff can look forward to receiving more information about the university’s partnership with AVENU Learning via the Community news website. Student-facing teams will soon receive a list of frequently asked questions to help answer potential questions about the partnership.
