Welcome Week celebrates new Lions, August 24 – 28

As the Saint Leo begins Welcome Week, the community will welcome new and returning students with onsite, virtual, and hybrid activities. Faculty and staff are invited to wear a mask, socially distance, pop in on Zoom, and welcome our Lions.

A small sampling of the planned events includes:

Monday, August 24:

  • Library Services: Hidden Treasures game – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Daniel A. Cannon Memorial Library
  • Military/veteran session – 1 – 2 p.m., virtual session via Zoom
  • Live music by Time Warp at Benedict’s Coffeehouse – 6 – 7 p.m.

Tuesday, August 25:

  • CAVE: Be a Successful Student at Saint Leo – 10 – 11 a.m., virtual session via Zoom presented by The Center for Academic Vision and Excellence
  • Beep baseball presentation with Greg Lindberg – 6 – 7 p.m., Tapia College of Business  outdoor classroom

Wednesday, August 26:

  • College of Arts and Sciences: Introduction to the sociology major – 5 – 6 p.m., virtual session via Zoom
  • CAB & Coffee – 6 – 8 p.m. at Benedict’s Coffeehouse with the Campus Activities Board

Thursday, August 27:

  • Mass of the Holy Spirit – 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., virtual, livestreamed from the Abbey Church
  • Live music with University Ministry’s Lucas Nocera at Benedict’s Coffeehouse – 2 – 3 p.m.
  • Student Government Union (SGU) welcome/social hour – 7 – 8 p.m., virtual event via Zoom

Friday, August 28:

  • Career Services will host Handshake Hunt – 2 – 3 p.m., virtual session via Zoom
  • Unified Greek Council Walkthrough – 6 – 8 p.m. at Kirk Hall

Other events include:

  • Yard games set up daily around campus;
  • Green Dot College Survival Guide;
  • Virtual Art Show; and,
  • Recording: Meditation Mandala- Being Playful – guided meditation with faculty member Pamela Decius.
