0Celebrate Opening Mass, Mass of the Holy Spirit online this year
It is a tradition each year for Saint Leo University to gather as faculty and staff to pray and ask the Lord’s blessing on our efforts during our Opening Mass. This year, we will come together virtually at 10 a.m., Monday, August 17. Mass will be celebrated in the Abbey Church by Abbot Isaac Camacho and livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc_QTkreSPTDpHzWaz7HdMg.
At 11 a.m., Thursday, August 27, the Mass of the Holy Spirit will be celebrated to begin our new academic year. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to view Mass, also to be celebrated by the abbot, at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc_QTkreSPTDpHzWaz7HdMg.
Catholic colleges and universities celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit, which dates back to the 16th century, to mark the opening of the school year. Everyone is invited to pray for our students—new and returning—and all members of our Saint Leo community as we begin our new year.
While this fall will bring some challenges, we thank God for the blessings we have received, and we pray for the good health and safety of each of you.
