Father Robert Velten Saint Leo University mourns the loss of Father Robert Velten, a monk with the Saint Leo Abbey. He passed away June 10. Abbot Isaac Camacho, OSB, and the monastic community will receive the body of Father Robert at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 15, and will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. All liturgies will be celebrated in the Saint Leo Abbey Church. All are welcome. Guests are required to follow the Abbey health guidelines by washing their hands before entering the church, practicing social distancing when sitting in the designated pews, and wearing a face-covering.
Joseph W. Chambers Saint Leo University mourns the loss of Joseph W. Chambers, father of Dr. Cheri Chambers, associate professor of criminal justice at Newport News Education Center. Mr. Chambers, of Lombard, Illinois, passed away June 6. Memorial services will be held after pandemic restrictions are lifted.
