Greek Life presents annual awards, Sigma Gamma Rho earns top honors

Greek Life recently presented its annual awards with four sororities claiming the top honors. Sigma Gamma Rho was named the Chapter of the Year.

The Chapter Excellence Program serves to assess each fraternity and sorority chapter on the basic requirements of operations. The goal is to celebrate chapter accomplishments by highlighting successes over the academic year and looks at chapter activity, achievement, and performance.

This year’s awards went to:

  • Gamma Upsilon – The Campus Engagement Award highlights a chapter, which has shown steadfast visibility in hosting, supporting, and attending campus events.
  • Alpha Sigma Tau – The Community Engagement Award honors a chapter that made significant contributions in the area of community service and/or philanthropy.
  • Lambda Pi Chi Sorority Inc. – The Academic Excellence Award recognizes a chapter that demonstrated a commitment to high scholastic achievement.
  • Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. – The Chapter of the Year Award highlights outstanding contributions of a sorority or fraternity chapter through chapter engagement, academic excellence, and community service at Saint Leo University. The recipient of this award must hold a 3.0 cumulative chapter grade point average and be in good accreditation standing with Greek Life and the university.
