New leadership structure introduced for Saint Leo information technology

Because of the important role that technology has and will continue to have in Saint Leo University’s success, university leadership has announced two new changes for Saint Leo’s information technology team.

As of March 9, the department operating structure will include a chief technology officer and virtual chief information officer. Manny Rodriguez, a longtime leader of the department, will serve as the chief technology officer, and a member of Collegis Education will serve as the virtual chief information officer, acting as an advisor and consultant on strategic initiatives in partnership with Rodriguez, President Jeffrey Senese, and the cabinet.

Rodriguez joined Saint Leo in 2012 as director of user services and has since served in other roles. His most recent position was deputy chief information officer. Rodriquez brings more than 25 years of experience to the position, having worked in information technology at a several other organizations such as Emtec Inc., H. As chief technology officer, Rodriguez will oversee the daily operations of the information technology department and will directly supervise all information technology area directors, the strategy and governance team, and the department’s executive coordinator.
