Spirit Day Challenge set for January 29
Get ready to celebrate a Day for Saint Leo! On Wednesday, January 29, all faculty and staff are invited to dress for Saint Leo’s Spirit Day Challenge to help kick off the Day for Saint Leo give day campaign, which will take place on Friday, February 7. The kickoff event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Student Activities Building.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to dress in their best green and gold attire – the crazier, the better! Those wishing to show support in a more subtle way may wear jeans, a Saint Leo shirt, and other university apparel.
The winner of the Spirit Day Challenge will receive the coveted “Most Spirited Trophy” and the choice to receive either a $50 Campus Bookstore gift card or $50 Lions Loot card, which can be used at Benedict’s, the Lions’ Lair, or Dining Hall.
To enter the challenge, have your picture taken at the tent outside of the Student Activities Building between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. or submit your photos virtually by 5 p.m. to engagement.giving@saintleo.edu. Then on February 7, the Saint Leo community will be invited to vote for the most spirited on social media. More details to come. Winners will be announced the following day.
In addition to the challenge, faculty and staff are invited to celebrate Spirit Day at Cookies and Conversation at 2 p.m., and at the women’s and men’s basketball games, which start at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively.
Each year, a Day for Saint Leo brings together our university community to raise money in support of Saint Leo’s life-changing mission. Dollars raised will help fund the university’s academic programs, student scholarships, athletics program, military education, and future university development projects.
The goal for this year’s give day is for 250 members of the Saint Leo pride to make a donation, helping to raise $250,000 in just one day! Learn more about a Day for Saint Leo at your.saintleo.edu/dayforsaintleo.
