In Memoriam – U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant Danny A. Davis
Saint Leo University mourns the loss of U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant Danny A. Davis, husband of Marketta Davis, social media specialist in Marketing. Sergeant Davis passed away on July 17, 2019, at the age of 37.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2001, and he served at Lackland Air Force Base, Sheppard AFB, Elmendorf AFB, Mountain Home AFB, Goodfellow AFB, Cannon AFB, Hurlburt Field, and MacDill AFB in Tampa, where he was well-respected. The Davises were married in 2006, and adopted three “fur babies,” Pumpkin, Shayla, and Axel. He was elated at the prospect of becoming a father, and his wife is expecting their first child.
In addition to his wife and his unborn child, Sergeant Davis is survived by his parents, Danny and Joyce M. Davis, and sister, Jaleesa D. Davis.
A funeral service was held July 25 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, FL, and he was laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. A memorial service was held July 29 at the MacDill Air Force Base Chapel, with a celebration of his life following in the Chapel Annex.
