0University Ministry invites community to Seder meal, April 16
The university community is invited to University Ministry’s annual Seder meal from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, in the Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms in the Student Community Center (SCC).
The Seder meal will re-enact the Passover meal hosted by Jewish people throughout the world. Passover begins on Friday, April 19. The Passover Seder is a meal and prayer service. Some Christian families and others hold modified Seder meals because the Last Supper, during which Jesus presented the Eucharist, is believed by many people to have been a Seder meal.
The Passover Seder is an opportunity to share the story of Exodus and the Jewish people’s escape from Egyptian slavery. The food served at a Passover Seder represents various parts of the journey.
There are 65 open spots for Saint Leo’s Seder meal. To attend, please RSVP to tiffany.fettig@saintleo.edu or call University Ministry at (352) 588-8292.
