0Celebrate Thanksgiving at the 23rd annual community dinner
Thanksgiving Day is not a day to be alone. For the 23rd year, the Benedictine Sisters of Florida are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner to share with others. If you are alone this Thanksgiving or just can’t prepare a big meal, join the sisters!
Each year they celebrate with a homemade dinner, including all the trimmings! This free dinner is served from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 22. The traditional fare served is turkey, stuffing, salad, mashed potatoes (100 pounds are peeled), green beans, and a variety of desserts. Sister Donna prepares the meal, and the Saint Anthony Women’s Club provides the desserts … yummy! For the past 15 years, the event has been co-hosted by Saint Anthony of Padua parish, and the event takes place at Saint Anthony Parish Center, located behind the church at 12110 Main St., San Antonio, FL. It is a fun afternoon of fellowship and giving thanks. All are welcome!
Make your reservation for dinner today as space is limited. For those who are home-bound, please call to schedule delivery. The monastery can be reached at (352) 588-8443 or (352) 588-8320. If you would like to attend, volunteer, and/or donate, call one of the above phone numbers, or email hnmdevelopment@saintleo.edu.
Reservations MUST be made by 1 p.m. on Friday, November 16.
The sisters would like to give a special thanks to friends who volunteer and donate to help make this event possible.
