0Saint Leo hosting National Hispanic Institute high school students June 13-June 17
More than 120 high school students will be at University Campus from Wednesday, June 13, to Sunday, June 17, as Saint Leo hosts the National Hispanic Institute’s 2018 Collegiate World Series (CWS). No, it’s not about baseball—it’s about growing the next generation of Hispanic leaders and teaching them about college life. This is Saint Leo’s second year of hosting the NHI event.
Students from Panama and 11 states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin) will attend this year’s CWS at the university.
The CWS is for high school students with high potential to become leaders within the United States and global Latino communities. The Collegiate World Series helps them prepare for the college admissions program and to practice inquiry-based learning. The students will take part in a variety of activities on campus.
Saint Leo’s guests will stay in Apartments 5 and 6 during this visit and will take part in activities in various building on campus.
Please welcome our guests and potential Lions!
