Business Week 2018, March 27 – 29
Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate in the many events going on at University Campus during the 2018 Business Week, which begins March 27 and ends March 29.
The events begin at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, with opening remarks by Dr. William J. Lennox Jr., university president, in TECO Hall in the Tapia School of Business building.
Dr. Jeffrey D. Senese, Saint Leo provost and senior vice president of Academic and Student Affairs, will be the keynote speaker for Saint Leo’s Business Week. His talk will be from 2:15-2:45 p.m. in TECO Hall.
Ending the day, there will be a “Speed Networking” session from 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the School of Business lobby.
From noon to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, in TECO Hall, there will be industry panel discussions. The times of the different industry presentations are:
- noon – accounting, finance, economics
- 12:45 p.m. – sport business, hospitality
- 1:30 p.m. – marketing, communications, multimedia
- 2:15 p.m. – computer sciences, cybersecurity
- 3 p.m. – management
Also, from noon to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, in the School of Business lobby, there will be resume writing opportunities, as well as mock interviews in Room 101. Sign up is required for mock interviews.
On the final day, Thursday, March 29, there will be a career fair from 4 to 7 p.m. in the School of Business lobby.
The Lion’s Den business plan competition is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in TECO Hall / and through Video Teaching and Teleconferencing (VTT). The main goal of the competition is for students to create a new business idea/concept that they will present to a group of Lions much like the TV show Shark Tank. Presenters want these Lions to invest their money into the business. This will be the end product, which students will keep in mind as they go through the process.
