0Spring concert on March 7 features sounds of modern bluegrass
Saint Leo University student musicians and guests will perform for their annual spring concert a contemporary (2015) composition, “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass,” on Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m., at the Saint Leo Abbey Church. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Rather than a traditional Catholic Mass or worship service, this will be an evening entertainment event featuring a performance of modern bluegrass music written for choir musicians with instrumental accompanists. The music has been described as joyful and ecumenical and was created by noted composer Carol Barnett.
