New scholarship management platform is live
On September 1, Saint Leo University launched a new scholarship management system. The new online system will streamline the process for applying for, reviewing, and awarding privately funded scholarships. Please help us get the word out to all university students.
The new platform has many useful online features and benefits for students, as well as faculty and staff involved in awarding scholarships. Students can view available scholarships for which they are specifically eligible, apply for scholarships, view and accept scholarship offers, submit post-acceptance information, and view donor profiles. All applications will initially be vetted through University Advancement to confirm donor-stipulated criteria has been met prior to being scored by review committees. Faculty and staff who are serving on review committees will then be able to view applicants eligible for specific scholarships, review and score applications, and recommend recipients.
Students need only complete the general application once at the beginning of each academic year, starting in August. General applications will be archived and removed from the system in July at the end of each academic year.
All students are strongly encouraged to complete the general scholarship application. The system will auto-match scholarships based on established selection criteria. In addition, the system may provide additional “recommended” scholarships, which may require applicants to answer a few more questions.
Please speak with your students about using this application platform, which can be found at https://saintleo.academicworks.com. Students can log in with their Saint Leo portal usernames and passwords.
Note that the deadline for the fall application cycle is October 15, 2017. Fall scholarship awards will be disbursed for the current academic year.
