2017 Criminal Justice Summer Institute courses now open!

Staff and faculty in the Criminal Justice Department are encouraged to share information about the 2017 Criminal Justice Summer Institute courses with all graduate and undergraduate criminal justice majors. The two course offerings are described below.

June 5-9
CRM300 / CRJ 500 Homicide and Forensic Death Investigation
Offered in partnership with the Public Agency Training Council (PATC), this is a specialized five-day course on Homicide and Forensic Death Investigation. Topics will include Three Phases of Investigation, Crime Scene, Case and Courtroom Preparation, and Forensic Pathology. This course will be offered in the Student Community Center Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms at University Campus in St. Leo, FL, and through VTT at the Chesapeake, Morrow, and Savannah centers. It will be offered as a blended course (with an online portion) for graduate or undergraduate academic credit.

June 27-28
CRM300 / CRJ 500 Securing Public Transportation
Offered in partnership with Security Solutions International (SSI), this is a specialized two-day course on Securing Public Transportation (Land, Air, and Sea). Taught by highly experienced investigators and scholars in the field of terrorism, students will learn about counter-surveillance, suspicious activity reporting, and other topics based on actual case studies from incidents around the world. This course will be offered in the Student Community Center Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms at University Campus in St. Leo, FL. It will be offered as a blended course (with an online portion) for graduate or undergraduate academic credit.
