0Nonperishable food items being collected through November 20
In the spirit of being united as one community this holiday season, the Collaborative Community Committee of University Senate is sponsoring a university-wide canned food drive to benefit Metropolitan Ministries, the Daystar Hope Center of Pasco County in Dade City, and ForKids in Virginia. The collection will take place until Sunday, November 20.
University Campus collection boxes are in the School of Business building lobby by the staircase, the Student Activities Building, and the Student Community Center. Additional collection boxes are located in the Virginia education center locations. More food collection locations in the Atlanta region will be announced for a subsequent holiday food drive.
Needed nonperishable items include:
- Canned meat
- Canned fruit
- Peanut butter
- Boxed cereal
- Rice
- Bottled water
- Soup
- Pasta
- Jelly/jam
- Condiments
- Boxed Jell-O
- Pudding
- Baby food/formula/cereal/jars
