National middle-school math contest comes to Saint Leo
As a community service, the Department of Mathematics and Science will again sponsor and host area middle-school children who wish to compete in the American Mathematics Competition 8 (AMC 8), developed by the Mathematical Association of America (www.maa.org.) The contest will be held Tuesday, November 15, at 6 p.m., in TECO Hall, the School of Business building. The contest challenges middle-schoolers to apply their problem-solving skills with 25 multiple-choice questions to be answered within 40 minutes. Questions may cover percentages, estimation, elementary geometry, graphs, and other topics. Since this is open to the community, please share this with neighbors, friends, and family.
