Student-written production Women on the Move: The Story of the Benedictine Sisters of Florida set for October 28-30

Nuns are people too. They aren’t the stereotypical women with rulers, reining in unruly children. They are fighters. They are friends. They are always on the move. Women On The Move is the untold story of Saint Leo’s Benedictine sisters. It is a story full of tears and laughter, a story with logs, photo shoots, running, and fights in the cafeteria over sausages and chocolate chip cookies. It is a story of modernization, and it is a story of a family brought together due to the Lord Almighty. This is a story of the women who are overlooked for all they do. They are the women on the move.

Women on the Move: The Story of the Benedictine Sisters of Florida is a student-written play about the Benedictine sisters as they navigate their way through time and history. The production is sponsored by the Department of Language Studies and the Arts and runs from Friday, October 28, to Sunday, October 30, in the Saint Leo Black Box Theatre in Benedictine Hall.

Showtimes begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free, but a $10 suggested donation will go directly to the Benedictine Sisters of Florida and their continuing work. Seating is limited. To reserve a ticket or for more information, email StLeoTheatre@saintleo.edu.
