0Haunted Marmion—Thursday, October 27
The local community is invited to Haunted Marmion, hosted by the Office of Residence Life from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, in Marmion-Snyder Hall. All floors will be transformed into a themed haunted house. Trick-or-treating will occur on two floors of Snyder Hall. There will be games and other activities in the Lion’s Den for those not participating in the haunted house or trick-or-treating.
The event is free; however, those attending are asked to donate one or more canned/nonperishable food items at check-in. In keeping with Saint Leo’s core values, these items will be given to a local food bank for community distribution among those in need.
There will also be student community service opportunities occurring throughout the month and the days of/after the event. Volunteers can sign up at the Office of Residence Life in Building 6 or outside of the Dining Hall during the last week in September. Pre-event preparations, painting decorations, and supervising volunteers will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following days:
- Tuesday, October 4, in Apartment 6
- Tuesday, October 11, in Apartment 5
- Tuesday, October 18, in Apartment 2
- Tuesday, October 25, in the Lion’s Den
Day before set-up will occur from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, and involves painting, decorating, and setting up the trick or treat halls. There will also be a pre-event day from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m., Thursday, October 27, which will include decorating the haunted halls, assisting with the event, and cleaning up. For those who contributed to the Haunted Marmion efforts, there will be a pizza party after the event.
