New Pi Gamma Mu honor society members inducted

Pi Gamma Mu, the social science honor society, held its sixth annual induction ceremony on Saturday, May 2, with 11 human services students being welcomed as new members. More than 30 people including those being inducted, their guests, and alumni, attended the candle-lighting ceremony, held via Zoom. They represented the education centers in Chesapeake and Newport News, VA, as well as Madison, FL. To view the ceremony, click here

Founded in 1924, Pi Gamma Mu is the oldest and preeminent interdisciplinary social science honor society.

Dr. Michelle Boone-Thornton and Dr. Cheryl Chambers served as the leads in organizing this event with collaboration from Dr. Amina Abdullah-Winstead. In addition, Dr. Tamika Lett and Dr. Charlene Cofield participated in co-hosting the ceremony.

The new Pi Gamma Mu members are: Zarchay Price; Kristina Danielle Ferrall; Natalie Marie Smith; Margaret Mary Fitzgerald; Natalie Harden; Shaun P. Hodges; Tanya Pabón Rio; Jernava Armstrong; DeNae Campbell; Prudence Simon; and Aubry Rupp.
