Tuition remission form updated, includes micro-credentialing info

Human Resources recently updated the university’s tuition remission policy and form, which is available to download from the university’s intranet.

The updated policy now includes information on micro-credentialing. Under the policy, micro-credentialing courses are not included as part of the tuition remission benefit; however, employees may seek approval from their supervisor to use budgeted departmental professional development funds to cover the cost of the course as long as the course is relevant to their current position with the university.

Funds must be budgeted in order for this to be approved. The university will offer a 10 percent discount to employees who wish to take a micro-credentialing course, which is outside of their position with the university.
