Applause

Applause, a monthly feature, celebrates the successes of Saint Leo University faculty and staff. If you would like to submit an accomplishment, please send details to news@saintleo.edu. Highlights may include external leadership appointments, awards, and notable presentation opportunities.

Dr. Michael Bailey, director of the Office of Accessibility Services, successfully defended his dissertation, Navigating and Negotiating Disciplinary Paradigms, to earn a Ph.D. in educational leadership from the University of South Florida. 

Dr. Garnise Dennis, adjunct faculty member at the Chesapeake Education Center in Virginia, was honored at the Women of Color Awards at NASA Langley Research Center where she is the business manager in the Office of STEM Engagement. 

Dr. Passard Dean, professor of accounting  and finance, in the Tapia College of Business, was honored by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) for his “Outstanding Service 2018-2019.” 

Gianna Russo and Brooke King, Saint Leo English faculty members, read from their respective works during the Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading November 9 in St. Petersburg, FL. Russo read from her new collection of poetry, One House Down, and King shared from a work in progress that follows up on her memoir, War Flower: My Life After Iraq.
