Online seminar planned for youth ministers, future youth ministers

Saint Leo University is sponsoring another in its series of free, online seminars from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., ET, Tuesday, October 29. The topic this time is “Successful Practices in Youth Ministry.” Dr. Thomas Humphries of the Saint Leo faculty will speak with Michael Buckler, who serves as regional associate director of youth and young adult ministry for the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg, FL. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his career in youth ministry spans 20 years. He has presented at churches, training sessions, and conferences, including the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry in 2018.

Humphries also has experience in this specialized area, having worked for several years as a parish and deanery-wide youth minister and high school teacher before earning his advanced degrees. He joined Saint Leo in 2011 and is an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy, Religion, and Theology.
