Haunted Marmion — October 25: Invite guests, encourage students to volunteer

Invite your children, grandchildren, and friends to the annual Haunted Marmion, and celebrate Halloween early! Hosted by the Office of Residence Life, Haunted Marmion will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, in Marmion-Snyder Hall. All floors will be transformed into a themed haunted house. Trick-or-treating will occur on two floors of Snyder Hall. There will be games and other activities in The Lion’s Den for those not participating in the haunted house.

The event is free; however, those attending are asked to donate one or more canned/nonperishable food items at check-in. In keeping with Saint Leo’s core values, these items will be given to a local food bank for community distribution among those in need.

There also will be student community service opportunities occurring throughout the month and the day of/after the event. Volunteers can sign up at the Office of Residence Life in Apartment 6 or outside of the Dining Hall up until the event. Pre-event preparations, painting decorations, and supervising volunteers will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following days:

Wednesday, October 10, in Apartment 6, MMR.

Wednesday, October 17, in Apartment 6, MMR.

Help will be needed before the event and on the day of the event. From 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 22, Tuesday, October 23, and Thursday, October 24, volunteers are wanted for painting, decorating, and setting up the trick-or-treat halls. On the day of the event, volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, which will include decorating the haunted halls, assisting with the event, and clean-up. For those who contribute to the Haunted Marmion efforts, there will be a pizza party after the event!
