Mass of the Holy Spirit, Thursday, September 1

Mass of the Holy Spirit will be held Thursday, September 1, at 11 a.m., in the Saint Leo Abbey Church. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to come together as a community and celebrate the academic convocation. To allow faculty, staff, and students the opportunity to celebrate Mass of the Holy Spirit, the University Campus will observe an alternate class schedule on Thursday, September 1. The Campus Bookstore, Student Financial Support Center, Lion’s Lair, and Dining Hall will close at 10:45 a.m. and reopen at 11:30 a.m. Please announce this change to your classes.

Classes will be 50 minutes in length. 

Faculty and staff members who close their offices for Mass should place a sign on their door, saying something to this effect:

This office will be closed from 11 a.m. until approximately 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 1, to allow faculty, staff, and students to attend Mass of the Holy Spirit.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Additionally, voicemail messages should indicate the office closure for Mass. Please record the following message on your voicemail.  We have included directions for updating your message.

You have reached the Saint Leo University__________________Office.  The university is closed from 11 a.m. until approximately 12:30 p.m. to allow faculty, staff, and students to attend Mass of the Holy Spirit. Your call is important to us and we will return it as soon as possible after Mass. If this is an emergency needing immediate attention, please call (352) 588-8333. If this is not an emergency, but needs attention before 12:30 p.m., please call (352) 588-8432.

Instructions for changing the message on campus phones are included below.

Cisco IP Phones

You can record only your standard, closed, and alternate greetings by phone.

  1.   Log on to Cisco Unity.
  2.   Press 4 > 1 > 1.
  3.   After Cisco Unity plays your current greeting, press 1 to re-record it, or press 3 to record a different greeting, choose the greeting, and then re-record it.
